Optimized for Shops, Roasteries & Coffee Laboratories

Mahlkönig presents a redesigned version of the popular Guatemala shop grinder. The classic went through a face-lift while keeping loved and proven technical specifications. In addition to a new design, this classic comes with a new burr geometry, increased hopper capacity and sleek full-aluminum body for maximum longevity.

  • Residue free grinding due to vertical burrs
  • Spout with metal knocker and bag clamp for the perfect hold of the coffee bag
  • Height-adjustable and removable table for a flexible positioning of the coffee grounds container or a bag
  • Allround grind size settings from espresso to filter and cold brew
  • Grind settings recommendation labeled on grinder

Precision retail grinding, built for different brew methods

The Guatemala is Mahlkönig's definitive shop and roastery grinder, engineered for high-volume filter environments where consistency, throughput, and versatility are non-negotiable. Redesigned around new burr geometry that delivers a wider particle size distribution than its predecessor, the Guatemala produces cleaner, more complex results across the full brew spectrum — from espresso thing through to cold brew coarse — with almost no residual grounds between doses.

  • Redesigned burr geometry delivering broader particle size distribution for improved extraction quality, complexity, and cup clarity compared to the previous generation
  • 71 mm vertically mounted flat special-steel burrs for a uniform, almost residue-free grind — the vertical orientation means the grinding chamber clears itself, minimizing cross-contamination between doses
  • 800–900 g/min (13–15 g/s) grinding throughput for high-volume café, roastery, and laboratory use
  • 20 stepped grind settings spanning espresso fine to cold brew coarse, with a grind setting reference guide printed directly on the grinder for at-a-glance operation by any member of staff
  • Burr grind life of approximately 3,000 kg (median setting), supporting demanding commercial use
  • Low-retention with metal knocker and vertical burrs, minimizing ground waste and ensuring freshness when switching between coffees
  • Spout with metal bag clamp for hands-free grinding directly into retail bags
  • Height-adjustable and removable table accommodating a range of container sizes, from small ground cups to standard retail bags
  • Full-aluminum body for maximum durability in continuous commercial operation
  • Approximately 900 g standard hopper capacity

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Mahlkönig Guatemala designed for?

The Guatemala is a professional filter grinder with allround capabilities like espresso. It is optimized for high-volume workflows including retail bag grinding, batch brew service, and cupping or single-serve lab protocols.

Is the Mahlkönig Guatemala suitable for espresso?

The Guatemala handles bulk espresso grinding for retail bags but is not designed for espresso service. For espresso service, the Grind-by-Sync grinders such as E65W and E80W are the perfect choice.
